Advertising by day...
I am fortunate enough to be able to pursue 2 passions in life: dance and advertising.
By day, I am an account executive (project manager) at an advertising agency and immerse myself in the fast-paced industry. Always looking for inspiration within the field, I share with you all this week's commercials that are worth watching:

Inspiration - The Roaring Twenties
I sometimes wish that I would have lived in the 1920s era, just to experience the cultural shift which was complemented by unique style and fashion.
The "Roaring Twenties" represented a break with tradition brought upon by the aftermath of WWI. Jazz music provided the soundtrack for this shift of power and discovery of innovation. Dance clubs also became hugely popular during this period and dominated all forms of popular music. Social dances such as the foxtrot, waltz, American Tango and Charleston were hugely influential in this period.
Women had recently received political equity and thus were empowered and searched for independence in a difficult time. The signature "Flapper" style redefined modem womanhood and exudes sophistication and class - the essence of Duchess.
"Immortalized in movies and magazine covers, young women’s fashion of the 1920s was both a trend and a social statement, a breaking-off from the rigid Victorian way of life. These young, rebellious, middle-class women, labeled ‘flappers’ by older generations, did away with the corset and donned slinky knee-length dresses, which exposed their legs and arms. The hairstyle of the decade was a chin-length bob, of which there were several popular variations. Cosmetics, which until the 1920s was not typically accepted in American society because of its association with prostitution became, for the first time, extremely popular."
This 1920s look can be recreated today with modern tools, a favorite of the Duchess:

Prologue
I have been wanting to start my own blog for a while now, but simple hesitation held me back. Recently realizing that there is no time like the present, I am proud to invite you all into my world - more precisely, my Land.
This Land is occupied simultaneously by 2 very distinct characters who you will meet throughout the course of my posts: Sabrina and Duchess.
